Simon was the most generous, kind, fun person. Every time we hung out we slipped into easy conversation, no matter how much time had passed, and I never once heard him raise his voice or get irritated about anything—not even how many glasses of wine I had until 3am in the living room! And absolutely no one could cook a Sunday roast like Simon. His easygoing charm sent an infectious good mood around the table whenever he entered a pub. I will miss him very much.
